Residential
moving: Tips for organizing your belongings from the room for the move
Sometimes change is necessary or desired and part
of a personal choice. Regardless of the reasons, the procedures are always the
same, organize everything in the best possible way to go through this stage
with as much serenity as possible, which does not always happen, because even
if everything goes well, there is always some concern, because changing is
going to the new and with regard to the transport of goods, too, involves
valuable and emotional issues.
Check out tips on how to organize the objects in
your room before carrying out the change. Of course, if you have a Moving Companies in NY, you won't have to worry about these
issues, but if you wanted to do this step alone, here's how you can go about
making things easier, before, during and after.
Mirrors and
glass frames
Glue an 'x' to the glass using masking tape to
prevent splinters in case of unforeseen circumstances.
Use corner protectors to protect edges from damage.
Cover the surface with a layer of cardboard and
bubble wrap.
Keep mirrors and glass in an upright position with
no items stacked on top of them during transport.
2-
Electronics
Backup your important files and documents.
Make sure you have the electronics's original
packaging for easy packing.
Use bubble wrap, blankets and towels to protect
your electronics.
Remove all temperature-sensitive items from inside
your electronics.
If possible, purchase special boxes if you do not
contract the packaging with the transport company.
3- Rugs and carpets
Clean the mat before you start packing it.
Wrap and tie each end of the rug with twine or
twine to secure it.
Do not wrap your rug in plastic as this can cause
mold and mildew.
Wrap the rug in sheets of thick paper and seal it
with masking tape.
4- Furniture
Disassemble the furniture and tag each part in a
way that makes assembly easy.
Cover furniture with protective covers or blankets
for movement.
Small furniture, which does not require
disassembly, cover with bubble wrap or blankets.
Curtains, chair covers, cushions, can go between
furniture or in plastic bags.
Depending on the size of your move and the transport
truck, most of the furniture can be assembled.
